Suppe für den soul – commercial break
Posted by soulwarrior in releases on February 23rd, 2010
Unfortunately, my weekly column Suppe für den soul has to take a break – and I can’t even say for sure how long that break’s gonna be.
I’ve summed up all the reasons in the last article for now: Suppe für den soul – commercial break.
Suppe für den soul – What now?
Posted by soulwarrior in releases on February 15th, 2010
Upper Deck and Blizzard didn’t renew their license agreement. This means that from April on, Upper Deck is no longer allowed to publish the WoW TCG.
What happens next isn’t entirely clear at this point. In my weekly column, I tried to give as much background information of what happened and what might happen next: Suppe für den soul – What now?

As a new player to the World of Warcraft TCG, you will often find yourself in a situation where you’re making a greenhorn mistake that is totally avoidable. In many cases, these mistakes will cost you the game, leading to lots of frustration.
I came up with a complete article listing many of these mistakes. It will definitely help you to get started to become a more successful player, so go check it out: Der Versammlungsstein – Greenhorn Mistakes.
Suppe für den soul – How to overcome defeat
Posted by soulwarrior in releases on February 8th, 2010
This week, I’m talking about how to deal with defeat. The last few qualifier tournaments didn’t really go the way I intended, so it’s about time to look for ways to improve my performance again. And even if you’re not interested in the topic at all, you should like the picture I added!
Der Versammlungsstein – The Chain, Part 2
Posted by soulwarrior in releases on February 8th, 2010
The Chain is such a complex element, I had to follow up the first article and give some more detailed information. This article shows exactly what happens when several links are added to the chain and what you should avoid when it comes to responding to other effects.
I spelled out some of the mistakes you can make to further emphasize the importance of chaining in the right moment. In a nutshell: This article should be able to help you a lot taking your game to the next level: Der Versammlungsstein – The Chain, Part 2.
Suppe für den soul – Core Crazyness
Posted by soulwarrior in releases on February 8th, 2010
The Core format is shaking up the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game. Although it took most players some time to get used to the idea of a Best of One format, the acceptance is now ever growing. Part of the reasons are the potential decks that can be built in the new environment.
This issue of my weekly column presents some of the fancier ideas I could come up with, so check it out: Suppe für den soul – Core Crazyness.
Der Versammlungsstein – The Chain and Priority
Posted by soulwarrior in releases on February 8th, 2010
Sorry, this news comes a little late as the article’s been published a while ago. Same goes for the following news and I hope you don’t mind (too much).
The chain is simply the most important element in the World of Warcraft TCG. Pretty much everything happening during a game – whether you’re placing a resource, play an ability or declare an attack – will be resolved using the chain. So it should come as no surprise to you that understanding the chain is key to being successful.
This article should help you to master this important element: Der Versammlungsstein – The Chain and Priority.
Suppe für den soul – The WoW TCG OP 2010
Posted by soulwarrior in releases on January 19th, 2010
Last week’s announcement took most European WoW TCG players by surprise as they didn’t expect this year’s OP schedule to not contain any European DMF’s. However, not everything’s as bad as it seemed at first as European OP reps have now confirmed that there actually will be some DMF’s on this side of the ocean.
That’s still not all. With the introduction of the Core format, Upper Deck pretty much divided the player base with most experienced players thinking that a Best of One format can’t be any good at all. I tried to look a little deeper into the topic and came up with some interesting facts that support Upper Deck’s claim that the format will be good for the game.

Der Versammlungsstein – Where can I play?
Posted by soulwarrior in releases on January 15th, 2010
If you’re new to the World of Warcraft TCG, you might get easily confused when experienced players keep on talking about “their stores” all the times on message boards. What can you expect from these stores and where can you find them? Two important questions that will be answered in this week’s article.
Suppe für den soul – The Pro Book of Etiquette

Most players that follow up with the current happenings regarding the WoW TCG have about the outcry started by Matt Markoff on the official forums. I felt like reacting to it; while I agree that something needs to be done and that voicing criticism is always a good way of showing the publisher you care, it’s important to do so in the right way. So this is pretty much part 1 of a longer article series that reads pretty much something like:
